Hello Duffels4Kids friends and supporters!

Hope all of you are well as we share an update on our recent move from Florida to Tennessee. As many of you know, Duffels4Kids was created to fulfill a need in the foster care system: to provide youth with a duffel to carry their belongings in place of the trash bags many have been forced to use when transitioning between homes. In 2008, Michael and I were excited to welcome our first foster child, but were confused and alarmed when his belongings were handed to us in a black trash bag. That image remained with us and in 2012, after much research and speaking with similar organizations in other states, we launched Duffels4Kids with the Florida State Foster/Adoptive Parent Association.

Fast forward to the fall of 2016 when Michael accepted a job with the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies. The personal move made it necessary to relocate Duffels4Kids' operations to Tennessee but our mission and vision remain the same: to provide free duffel bags to children in foster care with the hopes of changing the culture of their delicate transition, one duffel at a time.

For the past few months, we have connected with the Tennessee Foster and Adoptive Care Association and Tennessee Department of Children's Services to find the best way to serve Tennessee's foster care population. We believe we are ready to extend Duffels4Kids' efforts in the Volunteer State and look forward to providing Tennessee with the same support and services -- free duffels and birthday celebrations for foster children in group homes -- as we did in Florida, serving the children in care from both states.

Hopefully, your support will remain steadfast as well.

Forever in service,
LaShaun and Michael Wallace
